The Black Women’s Policy Center (BWPC) is the leading resource in Greater Pittsburgh region for driving advocacy and policy solutions that center Black women. Through shaping policy, shifting narratives, and advancing advocacy, we work to transform systems and create equitable opportunities for Black women and girls to thrive. Our mission is rooted in addressing systemic inequities at the intersection of race and gender while empowering Black women to lead and shape their futures. By partnering with communities, policymakers, and organizations, BWPC serves as a trusted guide and advocate for meaningful change.

The Black Women’s Policy Center centers, empowers, and acknowledges the full experience of Black women. We aim to both advocate and shift systems change work to focus on the intersectionality of gender and race. The Black Women’s Policy Center will move the dial and change the conditions in which all Black women and girls go from surviving to thriving. We need a place that not only mobilizes all Black women to build collective power but also embraces the whole Black woman.
