The Community Leadership Council is a leadership and civic engagement body of the Black Women’s Policy Center designed to develop, support, and mobilize Black women as change agents in their communities.
The Council brings together Black women who are committed to shaping policies, influencing decision-making, and strengthening civic participation at the local, state, and federal levels.
Council members receive leadership development, policy education, and hands-on advocacy opportunities while working collectively to address issues impacting Black women, Black families, and Black girls. The Council serves as a bridge between lived experience and policy action — ensuring that the voices of Black women inform solutions, campaigns, and systems change.
Through advocacy training, community engagement, and collaborative action, the Community Leadership Council builds leadership pipelines, increases civic participation, and advances equity-driven policy priorities rooted in community needs.
