About the Event

Tammy Thompson is the CEO of Catapult Greater Pittsburgh and is a Poverty Expert, National Speaker, and Creator of The Psychology of Poverty, a training that gives Black women opportunities to shift their perspectives and recreate how they’ve been impacted by the psychological implications of poverty.

Tammy’s own life was paved with unfortunate occurrences, homelessness, loss, and countless obstacles, a story so many women, unfortunately, can relate too.  However, she used her pain and turned it into a story of triumph that has empowered and equipped women across the country with “One Can of Carrots” her signature talk, life-altering workshop, and curriculum rooted in her expertise of what she has entitled, The Psychology of Poverty.

As a result of her work, Tammy is a nationally sought-after Speaker, Executive Producer of We Wear The Mask, a documentary released in 2017, highlighting the stigma associated with women in poverty, and The Owner of T3 Consulting and T3 Media.  For her expertise, she has been featured twice in local news outlets, including the  Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, as a Fox News contributor, on Pittsburgh radio station WAMO107.3FM and various other news outlets.
